Alan Teegarden will lead the Encompass Health Cape Coral team as the hospital's new CEO.
April 23, 2025 - Alan Teegarden has been appointed as chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cape Coral. The 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital is located at 1730 NE Pine Island Road in Cape Coral, Florida.
“I am excited to lead the excellent team at Encompass Health Cape Coral,” said Teegarden. “We will continue to serve the community with high-quality rehabilitative care that helps patients return to what matters most.”
Teegarden joined Encompass Health in 2022 as director of quality and risk management for Rehabilitation Hospital of Naples in Florida. In this role, Teegarden developed employee training programs to enhance understanding of quality standards. He led improvement of overall quality of patient care and streamlined process improvements. As a registered nurse, Teegarden also has career experience as an emergency department nurse manager and a vascular access registered nurse.
“Alan brings 30 years of health care experience to Encompass Health Cape Coral,” said Lori Bedard, president of Encompass Health’s Southeast region. “He leverages his expertise in operational excellence, patient-centered care and quality assurance techniques to drive growth and develop strong teams.”
Teegarden holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Aspen University. He has also achieved the Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality and Certified Professional In-Patient Safety credentials. During Teegarden’s tenure at Rehabilitation Hospital of Naples, he led the team to receive the 2024 Encompass Health Overall Quality award, which recognizes outstanding performance in a culture of safety and patient experience.
