Encompass Health Franklin increases capacity to care for more patients

Oct. 22, 2026 — Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Franklin, located at 1000 Physicians Way, can now serve more patients. The hospital unveiled a new patient unit that adds 20 patient beds. The addition brings the hospital’s total bed count to 60.

“For years, we’ve had a waiting list of patients needing our care,” said Matthew Pearson, hospital CEO. “It’s truly life changing when patients can receive the medical care they deserve. Now, more people in our community will have the opportunity to make stronger recoveries.”

Encompass Health Franklin serves patients recovering from debilitating illnesses and injuries, including strokes, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic conditions and neurological conditions. The hospital provides physical, occupational and speech therapies to help patients restore function and improve their quality of life.

As part of the expansion, the hospital also added a dialysis suite. Offering onsite dialysis allows patients the comfort and ease of receiving treatments at Encompass Health Franklin rather than leaving the hospital to receive the services elsewhere.

“Patients are always our top priority and at the forefront of every decision we make,” Pearson said. “By offering onsite dialysis, we can better meet patients’ unique needs.”

The expansion also means more healthcare jobs in Franklin. The hospital expects to incrementally employ more than 30 clinical and support staff. Encompass Health Franklin opened to patients in 2015.
