Oct. 16, 2025 - Rehabilitation Hospital of Henry hosted a senior health expo for McDonough and Henry County residents. The expo welcomed more than 40 health and wellness vendors to discuss senior living options, home care, legal and estate planning, hospice and palliative care. Representatives from the medical fields of orthopedics, cardiology, audiology and primary care were also available for questions. In addition, the expo offered free health screenings for attendees.

“One of the best ways for seniors to protect their health is through health screenings,” said Amber Hester, CEO of Rehabilitation Hospital of Henry. “Identifying health problems in the earliest stages allows for prompt treatment and offers the best chance for a positive outcome.”

Hester said the rehabilitation hospital organizes events like the expo to connect senior citizens to applicable health resources in their community.

“We know there is a lot involved for senior citizens to manage their health,” Hester said. “Our team at Rehabilitation Hospital of Henry not only helps patients recover after a life-changing event; we also want to partner with the community to support overall wellness and ensure people have access to the care they need.”

Rehabilitation Hospital of Henry serves patients following a life-changing illness or injury, including stroke, brain injury, hip fracture and other complex neurological and orthopedic conditions. The 50-bed hospital opened to patients in 2021.
