Aug. 3, 2022 – Brent Mills has been appointed as chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of North Alabama. In his position as CEO, Mills oversees all day-to-day operations, as well as patient care and quality, at the 85-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital located at 1490 Highway 72 East. He assumed the position in June 2022.

Mills most recently served as CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Shreveport since December 2020. Before joining the Encompass Health team, Mills was a chief operating officer at Parkhill Health in Dallas, Texas. Before this role, Mills served as regional vice president of PSN Affiliates in Grapevine, Texas, which included oversight of the inpatient surgical center, imaging center, and three ambulatory surgery centers. Mills held several other roles in healthcare over the years, including service line administrator, chief administrative officer, executive director of business, and project analyst. Over the course of his healthcare career, his successes have included spearheading the development of strategic long-term-planning processes to uphold growth, quality, cost-effectiveness, and patient satisfaction; successfully reducing $1.5M annually in operating expenses through his efforts to consolidate staffing assignments; increased patient satisfaction scores; reduced critical care turnaround time; and leading multi-million dollar expansion projects.
Mills earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in management, both from the University of Southern Mississippi.
