November 26, 2025 - Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Toledo celebrated five years of serving patients with a community open house. Community members and health care partners, as well as former patients, were invited to the celebration. Hospital leaders also led tours for attendees to get a closer look at the advanced rehabilitation the hospital provides.
“We are so proud of the past five years,” said Patricia White, CEO of Encompass Health Toledo. “We've impacted so many patients lives with compassionate care and expert rehabilitation. Celebrating with our community is the perfect way to reflect on our success but also look forward to the many more patients and families we will serve.”
Encompass Health Toledo opened its doors in November 2020 to patients needing care following a life-changing illness or injury. Over the past five years, the 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital has served more than 3,500 patients. The hospital also positioned the open house as a time to raise awareness about the importance of rehabilitation services.
“We are the leader in inpatient rehabilitation,” White said. “We have the advanced technologies and insight to care for individuals after they've experienced a stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, hip fracture or other neurological conditions. The intense therapy we provide is truly changing lives and is a vital resource for our community.”
Encompass Health Toledo's mission is to help patients return to what matters most. Each patient has a tailored therapy plan to meet specific goals. With 24-hour nursing care and a multidisciplinary approach to rehabilitation, patients participate in three hours of therapy, five days a week to regain function and strength. The hospital also offers onsite dialysis and support groups for patients and caregivers.
Encompass Health Toledo holds The Joint Commission Disease-Specific Care Certification for Stroke Rehabilitation.
