Last month, Encompass Health Richardson’s Diversity and Inclusion committee invited Dr. Tate, our new medical director, to speak on Women’s History/Gender Equality Month, which was in March. She spoke about her journey navigating through medicine as a black woman raised in a small town in Mississippi. She highlighted the struggles of setting herself apart as a woman with big aspirations, balancing family-work life, entering into medical school during Hurricane Katrina, finding a mentor that underwent similar experiences as her own and so much more! We were pleased to host this event.

After three stays at Encompass Health and approximately 60 days of being and out of the hospital, we are so proud to see Melissa Bosworth discharged today to go home to her family. Pictured with her: Wound Care Coordinator, Alyssa Harris, who was actively involved in her treatment and education throughout all of her stays. Congratulations Melissa!
