Chief Executive Officer
As CEO, Chris oversees the day-to-day operations as well as patient care and quality for South Plains Rehabilitation Hospital. A longtime Encompass Health leader, Wortham transferred to Lubbock from the Encompass Health’s sister hospital in Midland, Texas, where he served as CEO for six years. Chris is a native of Lubbock, whose education includes a master’s degree in management and health care administration from Wayland Baptist University, a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Lubbock Christian University and a registered nurse diploma from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Lubbock.
Dr. Tuamokumo, medical director of South Plains Rehabilitation Hospital, is a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician. Dr. Tuamokumo earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Florida College of Medicine. After medical school, he completed a one-year internal medicine internship at the University of Florida and his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Aside from his medical director duties, Dr. Tuamokumo serves as a clinical assistant professor at Texas Tech University.
Human Resources Director
Heather serves as the director of human resources for South Plains Rehabilitation Hospital. She is responsible for the implementation of human resources services, policies and programs to enhance overall employee engagement. Prior to joining the Encompass Health network, she served as a human resources generalist in the acute care industry as well as the transportation industry and brings nearly 10 years of experience as a human resources professional. She holds a bachelor’s degree in general business and a master’s degree in business administration.
Director of Quality and Risk
Kelly Fuller is the director of quality/risk management at South Plains Rehabilitation Hospital in Lubbock, Texas. He earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Lubbock Christian University and has over 30 years of experience in healthcare, ranging from staff to leadership roles. Along with the talented and dedicated staff of South Plains Rehabilitation Hospital, the team is committed to compassionate and empathetic care of all persons encountered in its daily routines, while maintaining compliance with all regulatory agencies and best practices.
Business Development Director
Kelli Gibson, formerly Kelli Freeman, recently relocated to the Lubbock area after serving as the business development director at Encompass Health’s sister hospital in Abilene, Texas. In 2014, she started her career with Encompass Health as a liaison with its location in Midland, where she was later promoted to a senior liaison role. Kelli is excited to serving the needs of the Lubbock and surrounding communities!
Director of Case Management
Dava serves as director of case management at South Plains Rehabilitation Hospital. She started her career at Encompass Health’s sister hospital in Midland in 2011 as a registered respiratory therapist then was quickly recruited to case management. She received her Certified Case Manager Certification in 2016 and is currently working on her bachelor’s degree in health care administration. Dava is focused on patient advocacy and education to ensure safe discharges home.
Chief Financial Officer
Mark Proctor joined South Plains Rehabilitation Hospital as the chief financial officer in February 2019. He brings a tremendous amount of experience to this role after serving in controller positions for 23 years. Mark’s financial management career has given him expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and developing strategic business plans. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Texas A&M University and has spent the past 12 years serving as the controller for two general acute care hospitals in Roswell, New Mexico.
Director of Facilities Management
Tommy serves South Plains Rehabilitation Hospital as the director of facilities management. He is responsible for maintenance and environmental services in addition to serving as the hospital’s safety officer. Before joining the team he served as director of plant operations for LTAC and LTC facilities for 12 years. Before then, he served in plant maintenance for more than 30 years. A native of Lubbock, Tommy holds an associate degree.
