At Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Mechanicsburg, we are committed to helping you regain independence after a life-changing illness or injury. Serving Mechanicsburg, Harrisburg and the surrounding areas, we are a leading provider of inpatient rehabilitation after stroke and brain injury and other complex neurological and orthopedic conditions.
Using clinical collaboration and advanced technologies, we provide a personalized care plan designed to meet your unique needs and help you achieve your goals.
Our inpatient rehabilitation hospital uses an interdisciplinary team approach that includes physical, speech and occupational therapists, rehabilitation physicians, rehabilitation nurses, case managers, dietitians and more, combined with our advanced technology and expertise, to help you achieve your goals. You will receive at least three hours of therapy five days per week while under the constant care of registered nurses, many of whom specialize in rehabilitation, and frequent independent private practice physician* visits.
Rehabilitation is covered in full or part by most health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. Our hospital has contracts with most major insurance companies and is willing to negotiate with other companies, as needed.

Chief Executive Officer
Josette Myers joined Encompass Health formerly HealthSouth four years ago and served as the area director of marketing at Encompass Health Mechanicsburg and York. Prior to that, she was the Vice president of marketing, community relations and development at Memorial Hospital in York where she worked in the areas of customer experience, physician relations, community health and wellness, strategic planning and marketing, and development. Josette has worked in the healthcare management field for more than 20 years. She is also an adjunct professor at York College and has served on numerous community boards including United Way, American Heart Association and the Memorial Health Fund. Josette has a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and a master's degree from Temple University.
Medical Director
A board certified physiatrist, Dr. Lupinacci has served as the medical director of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Mechanicsburg formerly HealthSouth since 1993. He received his undergraduate and graduate medical training at Georgetown University and completed his residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Baylor college of Medicine in Texas. Dr. Lupinacci is the founder of PRISM, Physicians of Rehabilitation, Industrial and Spine Medicine, P.C., and is a diplomat of the American Board of Pain Medicine.
Dr. Lupinacci is an independent private practice physician.
Director of Quality
Erin joined Encompass health Erie, formerly HealthSouth Erie, in 2013 as a staff nurse. Since then she has served in the roles of nurse supervisor and nurse manager. In addition to rehabilitation nursing, her clinical areas of expertise include medical/surgery, telemetry and critical care. She received her associate degree in nursing from Harrisburg Area Community College and is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Controller
Laurie serves as the controller of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Mechanicsburg, formerly HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Mechanicsburg, bringing eight years of financial management and analysis in the healthcare field, which includes skilled nursing facilities, acute care and home health. She received her bachelor's degree in accounting from Penn State University and an associate degree in business management from Harrisburg Area Community College. She is an active board member for the Legacy Hospice Foundation.
Chief Nursing Officer
Lisa joins Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Mechanicsburg, formerly HealthSouth Mechanicsburg, with over 25 years in healthcare. She brings experience from all aspects of the healthcare field including pre-hospital and family medicine, emergency, telemetry and medical/surgical nursing, and case management. She has her associate’s degree in nursing from Harrisburg Area Community College and her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Kaplan University.
