At Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Midland Odessa, we are committed to helping you regain independence after a life-changing illness or injury. Located in Midland, we are a leading provider of inpatient rehabilitation for stroke, hip fracture and other complex neurological and orthopedic conditions.
Using clinical collaboration and advanced technologies, we provide a personalized care plan designed to meet your unique needs and help you achieve your goals.
Our inpatient rehabilitation hospital uses an interdisciplinary team approach that includes physical, speech and occupational therapists, rehabilitation physicians, rehabilitation nurses, case managers, dietitians and more, combined with our advanced technology and expertise, to help you achieve your goals. You will receive at least three hours of therapy five days per week while under the constant care of registered nurses, many of whom specialize in rehabilitation, and frequent independent private practice physician* visits.
Rehabilitation is covered in full or part by most health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. Our hospital has contracts with most major insurance companies and is willing to negotiate with other companies, as needed.

Chief Executive Officer
Jason came back to his West Texas roots by joining Encompass Health Midland Odessa in September 2018 as chief executive officer. With more than 20 years of multidisciplinary healthcare experience, he has held numerous positions within Encompass Health including serving as the interim CEO of Encompass Health Tinton Falls, nurse manager and director of quality and risk management at Encompass Health of Midland Odessa and associate administrator at Encompass Health Concord in New Hampshire. He holds associate and bachelor’s degrees in nursing from Angelo State University and multiple nursing certifications, including the distinction of Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse.
Dr. Fredrickson has been with Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Midland Odessa, formerly HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Midland/Odessa for more than 22 years. He graduated in 1992 from University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He is certified by the American Board of Physical Medical and Rehabilitation.

Director of Quality and Risk
Brianna is a Registered Nurse with more than 10 years of clinical experience in ortho-neuro, medical oncology and rehabilitation nursing. She joined the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Midland/Odessa team in 2015 as the nurse manager and transitioned into her current role as the director of quality and risk in 2018. Brianna graduated Summa Cum Laude from Abilene Christian University in 2007 with her bachelor’s degree in animal science (pre-vet) and then pursued her nursing career at Midland College, graduating in 2009. Brianna has a passion for providing the best inpatient experience and seeing patients thrive.
Chief Financial Officer
Vivian Irwin joined Encompass Health of Midland, formerly HealthSouth of Midland as chief financial officer in April 2013. She has eight years of experience in rehabilitation at both the hospital and corporate levels. Her experience includes 20 years in finance and accounting, including previous positions as a CFO, staff accountant and financial analyst. Vivian has a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus in business computer systems from New Mexico State University. She is a New Mexico native and lived in Arizona for five years before relocating to Midland with her husband and two children. In her spare time, Vivian enjoys the outdoors, sporting events and spending time with her family.
Business Development Director
Tamara joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Midland Odessa, formerly HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Midland/Odessa in 2010. She joined Encompass Health with 20 years of experience in sales and marketing and has spent the past 11 years in the healthcare industry. A native of Midland, she came back to west Texas more than 10 years ago. She received a bachelor’s degree in speech communication from Texas A&M University. Tamara enjoys her family and friends and traveling.
Director of Human Resources
Tina serves as the human resources director for Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Midland Odessa, formerly HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Midland/Odessa and has worked for Encompass Health for more than 10 years. She has been a resident of west Texas her entire life and moved to the Midland area around 15 years ago. She recently completed her master’s certificate in human resources.
Director of Case Management
Summer joined the Encompass Health Midland Odessa team in October of 2015. She was quickly promoted from her original job of case manager to the director of case management role in early 2017. Having been raised in Crane and attending Angelo State University, where she received her bachelor’s degree of nursing, she is at home in West Texas. Summer came to Encompass Health Midland Odessa from Midland Memorial Hospital where she served as a charge nurse in the OBGYN department.
Director of Therapy Operations
Marly joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Midland Odessa, formerly HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Midland/Odessa in 1994 as the director of physical therapy and was promoted to the director of therapy operations. A native of the Philippines, Marly received her physical therapy degree from the University of the Philippines, College of Allied Health and Medical Professions. She moved to Texas in 1985.
Chief Nursing Officer
Levi joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Midland/Odessa as chief nursing officer in 2018, bringing more than 20 years of healthcare experience and leadership as a registered nurse. A west Texas native, he received his bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in nursing, with an emphasis in administration and public health, from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. His focus is optimizing patient experiences and outcomes through evidence-based clinical practice and staff engagement.
