Frances Leverone's Story - WCVB Channel 5

March 10, 2026 — Frances Leverone was driving his truck on Route 138 in Easton, Massachusetts, when he crashed into a dump truck full of snow. Another car crashed into his truck, setting both vehicles on fire. Leverone was trapped inside.

“I was hurt, and they were trying to get me out of that window,” Leverone told WCVB Channel 5 Boston. “They had to break my window.”

Two brothers and an Easton police officer rescued Leverone from his burning truck. The men pulled Leverone to safety.

“I see them getting under my arms, and I guess one of the brothers got inside the truck, trying to get my leg untangled, so I could stretch it,” Leverone said. “Then, they pulled me straight out.”

Leverone is recovering at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Braintree. He suffered a dislocated right hip, broken wrist and several other injuries. However, he is eager to thank the men who saved his life.

“God bless them, even my wife wants to God bless them,” Leverone said. “I survived.”
