Our inpatient rehabilitation hospital uses an interdisciplinary team approach that includes physical, speech and occupational therapists, rehabilitation physicians, rehabilitation nurses, case managers, dietitians and more, combined with our advanced technology and expertise, to help you achieve your goals. You will receive at least three hours of therapy five days per week while under the constant care of registered nurses, many of whom specialize in rehabilitation, and frequent independent private practice physician* visits.
Rehabilitation is covered in full or part by most health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. Our hospital has contracts with most major insurance companies and is willing to negotiate with other companies, as needed.

Chief Executive Officer
Steve joined Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth, in December 2008. He has more than 20 years of leadership experience in the healthcare field. Under his leadership, the hospital has built upon its community reputation for delivering high quality care and exceptional patient experiences. The hospital exceeds benchmarks in patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes and employee satisfaction. Steve has extended Encompass Health’s reach and commitment in the community with his involvement with The Resource Exchange, Leadership Pikes Peak, the American Heart Association, American Stroke Association and the Memorial Task Force.
Dr. Nathaniel Miller is the medical director of Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth, Colorado Springs and serves as the associate medical director of Encompass Health Littleton. He received his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Denver and a master’s degree in organic chemistry from CU Denver. He furthered his medical education by receiving his medical doctorate at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University and by completing his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Marianjoy in Wheaton, Illinois. Dr. Miller is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation through the ABPMR and AOA as well as traumatic brain injury. His interests include traumatic brain injury, stroke and spasticity management.

Case Management Director
Elizabeth joined Encompass Health in 2019 with over 10 years of experience in the field of social work. As a native of Kansas City, Elizabeth earned her degrees in social work from the University of Kansas with a bachelor's degree in 2009 and master's degree in 2014. As an ACE Master Trainer, Elizabeth thrives at providing a trauma informed care approach when working with our patients. Elizabeth loves to spend time with her husband, two children and three dogs.
Stephanie joined Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth, of Colorado Springs in November 2013 with over nine years of financial accounting experience. Prior to joining the Encompass Health team, Stephanie was a manager in the healthcare audit and attestation practice of a regional accounting firm within their Colorado Springs office. Stephanie holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Missouri in Kansas City. She is a certified public accountant in the State of Colorado and holds memberships in the American Institute of CPAs and Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Director of Human Resources
Michael joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Colorado Springs in January 2018. Prior to joining Encompass Health he worked in human resources for the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, and he worked in higher education as a residence hall director for several years. Michael holds a master’s degree in organizational leadership from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, and a Bachelor of Arts in communication and psychology from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.
Director of Business Development
Carley joined Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth, of Colorado Springs in December 2008 as a nurse liaison and moved into the director of marketing operations position July 2013. She graduated from the University of Alaska, Anchorage in 2001 with bachelor's in nursing science with leadership honors. Areas of nursing practice include; critical care, high risk orthopedics, rural nursing and inpatient rehabilitation. She became a CRRN December 2014. She is an avid triathlete and enjoys spending time with her children and dog.
Director of Therapy Operations
Patrick is the director of therapy operations for Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth, Colorado Springs. He joined the HealthSouth team in 2001; it was then he realized his true passion and talent for rehabilitation. He has more than 13 years of clinical experience. Patrick’s physical therapy career began at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California in 1998. He was born and raised in California where he went on to get his physical therapy degree from the California State University of Sacramento.
