At CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs Rehabilitation Hospital, a partner of Encompass Health, we are committed to helping you regain independence after a life-changing illness or injury. Located in Hot Springs, we are a leading provider of inpatient rehabilitation for stroke, brain injury and other complex neurological and orthopedic conditions.
Using clinical collaboration and advanced technologies, we provide a personalized care plan designed to meet your unique needs and help you achieve your goals.
Our inpatient rehabilitation hospital uses an interdisciplinary team approach that includes physical, speech and occupational therapists, rehabilitation physicians, rehabilitation nurses, case managers, dietitians and more, combined with our advanced technology and expertise, to help you achieve your goals. You will receive at least three hours of therapy five days per week while under the constant care of registered nurses, many of whom specialize in rehabilitation, and frequent independent private practice physician* visits.
Rehabilitation is covered in full or part by most health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. Our hospital has contracts with most major insurance companies and is willing to negotiate with other companies, as needed.

Interim Chief Executive Officer and Director of Pharmacy
Lesalee Chilcote oversees the pharmacy department with more than 15 years of experience. She graduated with honors from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in pharmacy and has experience in psychological and behavioral rehabilitation medicine as well as institutional and research practices. She is a member of the Arkansas Pharmacists Association and is passionate about improving patient outcomes and balancing the pharmaceutical benefits/risks for each patient. Outside of work, Lesalee enjoys spending time with her husband and three boys and enjoying the beautiful Hot Springs outdoor life.
Dr. Reid joined CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs Rehabilitation Hospital as medical director in 2017. Dr. Reid is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, a medical specialty focused on the treatment of a wide variety of medical conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles and tendons. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Miami and medical school at Ross University School of Medicine. She completed her physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University where she served as chief resident.
Chief Nursing Officer
Chief nursing officer Janet Balash brings over 30 years of experience as a registered nurse to her position. In addition, Janet has over 15 years of leadership experience in an acute care setting. She is passionate about quality patient care, and mentoring nursing leadership for successful outcomes. Her specialty areas include ICU, interventional radiology and cardiac cath lab.
Associate Medical Director
Dr. Stephen Louis Bodemann is an internal medicine specialist in Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas. He graduated with honors from University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1977 and has more than 41 years of diverse experience, specifically in internal medicine. Dr. Bodemann serves as the associate medical director of CHI St. Vincent Rehabilitation Hospital Hot Springs, in partnership with Encompass Health.
Director of Therapy Operations
Sonja brings more than 20 years of diverse clinical experience and a wealth of managerial skills to CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs Rehabilitation Hospital. She is experienced in many facets of rehabilitation healthcare including acute care and inpatient rehabilitation, pediatrics with emphasis on school age populations, home health and long-term care focusing on dementia management. Sonja consistently advocates for her patients and ensures they receive the top level of care. In addition, she prides herself on continual professional development for her rehabilitation staff. Sonja is a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas where she received degrees in occupational therapy and psychology. She resides in Hot Springs with her husband and four children.
Director of Quality and Risk
Rebecca brings more than seven years of experience in healthcare quality. Prior to joining Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth, Hot Springs as the director of quality and risk management in 2016, Rebecca held positions in quality in the acute care setting as well as at the Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care (AFMC) Quality Improvement Organization (QIO). There, she held the role of quality improvement specialist assisting acute care hospitals, critical access hospitals, inpatient psychiatric hospitals and physician practices with various quality improvement initiatives through contract work with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Arkansas Medicaid and the Arkansas Department of Health Office of Rural Health and Primary Care. She earned her associate degree in nursing from National Park Community College and her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Arkansas Tech University.
Director of Business Development
Veronica serves as the Director of Business Development she has 15+ years experience in healthcare where she started as a language interpreter. She began her career with our hospital in 2015 as a rehabilitation nurse liaison before transitioning senior liaison then interim business development director. Her registered nursing career branches from clinic and acute care setting. She brings experience in specialties including cardiology, endocrinology, and orthopedic surgery. She strives to promote education to the community on the benefits of physical rehabilitation. She is involved with many area community organizations to promote the hospital throughout Central Arkansas.
Director of Case Management
Dana has more than 20 years of nursing experience including emergency department, staff development, cardiac rehabilitation as well as case management. She is a Certified Case Manager and has a passion for rehabilitation as it allows the patients to be able to get back to doing the things they enjoy.
Director of Human Resources
Michael serves as director of human resources. She has held a human resources leadership position for the past 25 years in a number of industries including healthcare, aerospace, transportation and hospitality. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Arkansas Tech University and holds certification from both the Human Resource Certification Institute (PHR) and Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP).
