At Yuma Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliation of Encompass Health and Yuma Regional Medical Center, we are committed to helping you regain independence after a life-changing illness or injury. Located in Yuma, we serve the surrounding area including El Centro and Brawley, California, as a leading provider of inpatient rehabilitation for stroke, hip fracture and other complex neurological and orthopedic conditions.
Using clinical collaboration and advanced technologies, we provide a personalized care plan designed to meet your unique needs and help you achieve your goals.
Our inpatient rehabilitation hospital uses an interdisciplinary team approach that includes physical, speech and occupational therapists, rehabilitation physicians, rehabilitation nurses, case managers, dietitians and more, combined with our advanced technology and expertise, to help you achieve your goals. You will receive at least three hours of therapy five days per week while under the constant care of registered nurses, many of whom specialize in rehabilitation, and frequent independent private practice physician* visits.
Rehabilitation is covered in full or part by most health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. Our hospital has contracts with most major insurance companies and is willing to negotiate with other companies, as needed.

Chief Executive Officer
Ian Hodge became the CEO of Yuma Rehabilitation Hospital in January of 2016. Ian has a master’s degree in business administration with specialty in marketing from University of Phoenix. He has 15 years of experience in healthcare administration and marketing in the fields of acute rehabilitation, residential treatment, day treatment, transitional living, home health and wound care. Ian was born in St. Andrews, Scotland; but was raised in Canada. At 20 years old, he immigrated to the United and became a US citizen in 2008. He is married with 2 children and enjoys riding his Harley Davidson.
Medical Director
Dr. Aluri became the medical director of Yuma Rehabilitation Hospital in August 2016. He has been a neurology and psychiatric consultant at Yuma Rehabilitation Hospital since its inception in 2003He received his medical degree from Guntur Medical College in India, completed his psychiatry residency at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, and is a proud Buckeye. After completing his psychiatry residency, he finished a neurology residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, and then a year of training in the epilepsy fellowship program. He has been in private practice in Yuma since 2000 and previously worked as a consultant neurologist and psychiatrist at Yuma Regional Medical Center from 2000-2006. He is married and has a daughter who is in college at Arizona State University.
Dr. Aluri is an independent private practice physician.
Director of Facilities Management
Raul Galaviz joined Yuma Rehabilitation Hospital in June 2019. He brings over 20 years of combined experience in facilities management, construction and flood restoration to the hospital. His previous leadership roles and hands-on experience have prepared him for his new role with extensive knowledge in building maintenance, employee management and mandated city, state and federal regulations. Raul has acquired several certifications that include disaster preparedness, HIPAA privacy & security, project management and employee management to name a few. Raul is a Yuma native who enjoys spending his free time with his family, especially with his grandchildren, and is an active member of his church.
Human Resources Director
Claire Holton-Zenner joined Yuma Rehabilitation Hospital in February 2017. She comes to Yuma Rehabilitation Hospital with a wide range of human resources experience in healthcare and other industries. With over twenty years of leadership and hand-on HR experience, Claire brings a plethora of ideas and knowledge to our hospital. She has a BA degree in Communications from Regis University located in Denver Colorado and her Senior Professional in Human Resources Certification (SPHR). Claire, her husband Terry and their dog Daisy relocated from the Midwest to Yuma to enjoy living in the sunniest place in the world.
Director of Therapy Operations
Naomi joined the Yuma Rehabilitation Hospital family in 2011 as a staff physical therapist. She was later promoted to a lead therapist in 2014 and then to the director of therapy operations in 2016. Naomi holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of California San Francisco and is certified in Neurodevelopmental Techniques (NDT). She was born in England and grew up in San Diego, California, before calling Yuma, Arizona her home in 2011. She loves being able to make a positive impact on peoples’ lives and playing an integral role in getting them back to doing the things they love.
Director of Quality and Risk
Tim Meerholz Joined Yuma Rehabilitation Hospital in January 2020.
Tim Meerholz Joined Yuma Rehabilitation Hospital in January 2020. Tim holds a bachelor’s degree from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Seton Hall University. Before Joining Yuma Rehabilitation Hospital Tim worked within infectious disease and mental health specialties and spent several years as a privacy officer. Prior to university Tim had the honor of serving within the United States Marine Corps.
Chief Nursing Officer
Kristin has been employed as a registered nurse by Yuma Rehabilitation Hospital since 2003. She received her AAS in nursing from Arizona Western College and her bachelor’s in nursing from Jacksonville University. She is a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse and a member of the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses. Kristin is a native of Yuma.
Controller
Jennifer joined Yuma Rehabilitation Hospital in January 2017 with more than 17 years of financial accounting experience. Jennifer holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Arizona in Tucson. She is a certified public accountant in the State of Arizona and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs. Jennifer began her career in public accounting in audit and assurance with a big four firm. She has spent close to 12 years serving as controller, first for a long-term care center and later for a multifaceted agriculture company.
Director of Pharmacy
Jacqueline graduated from the University of New Mexico and is a board certified nuclear pharmacist. She has owned and operated her own nuclear pharmacies for 10 years. After working at YRH as a part-time pharmacist for six years, she became the director of pharmacy in 2014. Jacqueline is a marathon runner and practices yoga.
